557 hands $395
(Nearing the end of the month)

Olavsoka, a Faroese national holiday is over and this month of poker is comming to an end. I don't plan on playing alot tomorrow, even though it is my last chance to make an impact on my monthly result. I am having some friends over for a Sit and Go tourney or two.

I am writing this on the morning of the 31st and the 550 hands I played were on the 29th. I can't say the session is clear in my mind, I remember ending it on a positive note, but being up almost $400 surprised me.

T9o in the Big Blind: Atlast an overbet that pays off and I had already forgotten about it. If you havn't read my diary for the last week or so, I have been complaining about people never calling my overbets when I have the goods and always calling when I am on a draw.

281 hands $51
(Olavsoka)

Poker didn't really have anything specail in store today. I am just trying to get to the end of the month, without loosing any of my profits.

Non online poker related content follows:

Today is the first day of a local holiday called Olavsoka. It is similar to mardi gras I imagine and is supposed to last two days. It usually lasts a bit longer, because people don't want to end the party.
Since my dad started to work with addicts, I have taken an oath of sobriety at his workplace, the Blue Cross. At times like this I feel a bit estranged, with my friends partying. I hate drunk people when I am sober and I hate sober people when I am drinking. I havn't had a problem with drinking, I just took the oath to support my dads organization, thus I havn't had a drink for two years.
Most of my friends enjoy drinking now and then and I do want to join them when there is a special occasion, so I have been thinking about resigning from the Blue Cross.

599 hands $2394
(2 good days, too few hands and a photo)

I missed writing my blog yesterday. These last two days have featured alot of ups and downs, but I couldn't be happier about the end result.

I havn't played exceptionally good, but I havn't had too many streaks of bad play either. Yesterday ended with a minus, after a couple of bad beats I wont bore you with. Today's session went from good to great when I landed the biggest pot sofar in my poker carreer.

A9o in the BB: A $2.700 pot netted me a profit of $1.500 and all the money went in when all I had was three of a kind. I think the hand isn't that interesting otherwise, I put my opponents on draws or the 9 with a worse kicker or possibly an overpair. If one of them is gonna show me 33, he can have my money.

There was one funny hand that happened in the session I had yesterday.

J9o on the Button: I meant to bet pot and this is the first time I have ever misclicked on Full Tilt Poker. I can't say I like the Small Blinds call, even if he is sure my bet is a misclick.

Other things keep fighting over my time and I can't seem to get my regular rythm from last month of 1000 hands a day back. Dungeons and Dragons Online, friends, summer and my brother is on visit from Denmark.

my brothers Suni and Andrias Pauli

I can't say I am dissapointed about how the month is turning out, but I really wanted to get more hands in. Hopefully I can shape up come next month.

471 hands -$853

I had a bad run today and coupled with only playing my "B" game at times it left me down a hefty sum. Don't get me wrong, my "B" game is not unprofitable, if I hadn't suffered a couple of bad beats I would have been up overall.
I played in a live tourney aswell and was very happy with my play there, but alas bad beats had me out in 6th place and only top 3 got money.

I explored the overbet push again today, with very bad results again. I simply don't seem to get called when I have a nut hand, but do get called when I am on a draw. To me it seemes like the board has the same texture and I play them the same way against the same opponents, but the results are never in my favor. Perhaps I have just been very unfortunate with my timing, but I can't help but suspect that there is something wrong with the play that I just don't get yet.

On another note, I do feel ready to start putting in some hours of work each day again. Hopefully I can start preparing my bankroll for the next level, while cashing home some money in the meanwhile.

386 hands -$140

I overbet pushed twice today and got called in both instances, also loosing both times. Not that it preoccupies my mind, but I it made me think about the value of the play.

87s on the Button: Here is the first time I push. In this example I have about a 46% chance of winning the hand. I did not like the push when I thought about it afterwards, because I acted too fast. I didn't give my opponent time to start worrying about my holding. The flop went check, bet, raise, push, call in very fast order.
If I would have stopped to think, I would have realized that he might have me dominated with a bigger flushdraw here and might well have called with such a holding.

T9s Under the Gun: This push I like better, the stacks are bigger, I have a better draw and the player I am doing it against is a stronger opponent capable of laying down stronger hands than the previous opponent.
That he happends to have flopped a set is offcourse unfortunate. I still have a 42% chance of winning this race.

I am gonna think some more about the overbet push play. I don't think I will strike it from my arsenal of moves, but I might choose to employ it in diffrent settings.

758 hands $24

I played a number of hands today on Full Tilt Poker. Not as many as I want to play on a saturday, I always aim to get in over 1000 hands, but the session went very smoothly and before I opened up poker tracker to dub this entry I thought I had only played 3-400 hands.

The session wasn't very interesting though. I looked through the hand histories, but was unable to find one interesting enough to post here. I just didn't connect with enough flops, so I barely pulled out ahead by playing aggressively and continuation betting.
An even money session like this nets me about $30 in rakeback and $54 isn't to bad a score when there is no tax.

My game is getting better and I feel like picking up on my daily grinding again. The break has helped me, both in real life and getting my game back on track.

Non online poker related content follows:

My friends and I had another live game today. 11 people played in the first one and I cramped all around a big table. That wasn't very succesfull, people were getting on eachothers nerves and stuff. So when the 12th player showed up in time for the next tourney, we divided it into two tables of 6. The result couldn't have been better in my oppinion, the game went much more smoothly and there was plenty of space to hang.

I took some pictures with my new camera, but I have come to the realization that I am not too skilled with this simple device. I need to read the manual next time and practice a bit. The image quality is more than ample for the internet though, so that is always some good news.
Here is the one photo I think turned out somewhat good.

My friends have won all my chips in a live Sit and Go

I came in 3rd in the first game and went out early in the second, that put me at even which is never to shabby.

393 hands $106

I actually lost money on the tables yesterday. The profit comes from cashing out $600 of rakeback. I couldn't access my blog yesterday. Today I restarted my router to get a new ip, that seemed to work I can access it now.

I have bought myself a new camera, so I can add pictures to my blog. Hopefully I will have that up and running before too long.

I am supposed to have spagetti ready in 1 hour and am hosting a live Sit and Go in 2 hours, so I have dropped getting a picture uploaded on this post. Yesterday we also played 2 Sit and Gos. I not only went out on the bubble on both, but I played badly in them too.

Perhaps I will try my luck at the 10.000 point Full Tilt WSOP tourney tonight, if everything here on the real life front gets runs smoothly that is. So until later tonight take care. I don't really have time to read this through properly, hope there arn't to many spelling errors.

434 hands $1662

I think for once that the profit today came from good play. I was very focused and alert, playing two or three tables only. Nowadays two or three tables usually arn't enough to keep me focused. I need to occupy my entire mind or it will start to wander, so I open table after table until I have so much to process I can think of nothing else besides poker.
Gladly today was diffrent and I think I owe some of it to the recent increase in live game play on my part. If anything, live games teach me patience and focus.

I played in a live 6 max tourney today at a local club. The buy-in was 300 DKR which is about $50. I like it alot, because I play solely 6 max online. I finished 7th out of 25 entrants and only top 3 got money. Jan V. who won our home game tourney some days back came in 2nd and scored some money again.

AK in UTG: I am definatly not happy with how I played this hand. You can't see it in the replay, but the MP player thinks for a good while before folding on the turn.
I am sure there is a good way to play this hand, but I am not sure what it is yet.

Thursday, July 20, 2006

258 hands - $964

What can I say, I lost an some big hands on the $600 NL tables, it happends and I don't feel badly about it one bit. Swings are part of the game. If your a 60% favorite to win you will loose 40% of the time, that's poker.

TT in MP: Here is my biggest looser for the session. The call is, if I can say it myself quite stellar. I am about a 75% favorite to win, but then you are gonna see him catch that King or Ace once every four times when you make this call. And I am not gonna feel bad each time that happends, if I did I'd spend too much time feeling bad while playing.
As to the play, or the call rather, I can't give much info. Either he has me beat with a higher overpair, or he is playing AK frustrated. It is a gut feeling type of call, this time my gut said he has AK and he did.

KK in UTG: This is the very next hand. As you can see I havn't rebought yet and am now UTG. I think I played it great overpushing, playing on my tilty image from the suckout last hand. Needless to say I am not gonna fold the hand under any circumstance, so if one of them has JT or a set he gets my money.
But just making a standard $65 bet would leave me with less than $200 behind in a big pot, not knowing what to do if a 7, 8, 9, T, J, Q, K or Ace came on the turn. I am very sure than any Queen calls me here and an A9, A8, TT, 99 or T9 just might call aswell.

I know it is not advisable to post bad beats on your blog, but I think the two hands were interesting so I decided to post them. I won't get into a habit posting bad beats, but whenever I have a loosing day the most likely interesting hands will probably be the loosing one's and vica versa.

466 hands $134

I had friends over for burgers today and we played a Sit and Go. Jan V. won it, knocking out all the other 8 players to face Torkil in heads-up with an overwhelming chiplead. Rógvi went out as nr. 3 and I just missed the money as nr. 4.

My sleep pattern has somewhat returned to normal, but I still havn’t found my rythm of pokerplaying again. I take a quick 200 – 300 hands once or twice a day, just to keep up with the Iron Man challenge at Full Tilt. I hope to get everything else straightned out so I can start playing a thousand hands per day again.
I think the online games have been soft lately and the only thing I can blame a days loss on is lack of concentration and emotional instability. Luckily this is still a good month profit wise, but I am starting to doubt my ability to break last months record of $8.500.

Monday, July 17, 2006

104 hands $288

My daily rythm is getting messed up, I've been sleeping 6 hours waking 12, then sleeping again 6 for some time now. That really messes up my poker playing, not to mention my mental and physical well being. I have to realize that I am not 18 anymore, closing in on 30 does take its toll.

I don't know if my irregular daily pattern will make me miss one day of blog writing or perhaps make me write two entries on the same day, but I hope you have something new to read each day that you visit. I know I like the webpages I visit on a daily basis to be updated.

A5s in the CO: Funny thing about this hand is that I was thinking if it was still as profitable limping in family pots with Axs hoping to hit my flush. I remember in $50 and $100 buy-in games that this was a lucrative call, but lately I think the flush is just too obvious when you make it, that it isn't that profitable anymore.
I was sure it wasn't a loosing hand by any means so I limped and again on the flop was faced with a dilemma. Do I go the old trusted call road or is it more profitable in the long run semi-bluff raising; disguising my hand along with having a chance to win the pot right here.
I don't know if I would have won more with the raise, I probably would have. But the experience proved that you still make money with abc plays in $400 NL.

589 hands $1294

What a wonderfull session I had today, the players were bad and the cards were good. It just lifts my spirits up having such fortune at the tables.
My father works in helping addicts and I have to agree with him that gambling can become a serious addiction, if one isn't carefull. The feeling of winning a thousand dollars in 10 minutes isn't that much diffrent than a high, I imagine.

I played a WSOP freeroll today that didn't go as well as my cash game session. My father held his birthday today and that coupled with the freeroll tourney made me miss out on making 1000 cash game hands for the day.

AQs in the CO: I regret not calling this hand. Villan might well have a set or AK, but the more I look at it, the river overbet looks like a bluff.

Saturday, July 15, 2006

927 hands $204

Today had alot of ups and downs, but when all was said and done I came out modestly ahead. $100 comes from a bonus on Party Poker and the $104 was actual real "work".

The tables were littered with bad players today, so that is something good. Hopefully it will stay this way throughout the weekend. Yet I am not certain I am playing well enough to profit fully from the money being donated. I still need to work on my game and my emotional state while at the tables, so I can come closer to a tilt free zen state.

Sorry for poor language and spelling errors in the last post, sometimes I write these just before I go to bed and don't read properly through them before I press "Publish Post".

88 in the BB: I am not proud of the flop call, I guess I called to re-evaluate on the turn. When he bets the weak bet on the turn I just knew that the 3 pairing counterfeited his hand and he must have 74. In the heat of the moment I felt he'd call a push and went with it, I guess the smart play would be to let him bet the hand again on the river, or pick it up then if he failed to bet again and atleast fold to the flop checkraise.

279 hands - $156

Short session with a little loss. Tomorrow I plan on getting 1000 hands in or more.

There was one crucial hand today, that made my day come out negative. I played most of my hands at $200 and $400 NL, but there was one $1000 table that seemed juicy so I took a seat. Withour further ado.

QQ in the CO: I think I misplayed the Turn by not betting, I figured there was a strong posibility that he had a flush and I really wanted to fill up. I think I made the right decision by folding on the river, but I played the hand very weakly and didn't have any read so he might very well have bluffed me out of a nice pot.

Thursday, July 13, 2006

261 hands $307

It looks to me that I am starting to get my "A" game back, but I hope I don't feel that way because the last two days have been winning days.

How is it, that every bad player that misplays every hand for an entire session, and just happen to end the session ahead after laying a bad beat on another player; always thinks afterwards that he played good. It doesn't matter how good or bad your play, our instincts say good play equals money, bad play equals loss.
Sadly I am just as affected by this flaw in our perception of ourselves. It is difficult for me to judge my game by anything other than immediate results.

I plan on picking up on my 1000 hands a day routine again, come this weekend. If my friends plan something big on several of the weekend days I might miss the quota, but I don't think 1000 hands should pose any difficulty otherwise.

A8s in the SB: The pre-flop call of the Big Blinds raise is perhaps a bit on the loose side, but the player limping Under the Gun was bad and he was getting frustrated at me, so I took a flop.
On the flop I think this is a clear call. I have perfect relative position sitting to the right of the preflop raiser, I have a backdoor flushdraw and I might just have the best hand in middle pair. Other than that I hope to spike an Ace which I will play somewhat cautiously or an Eight which I will consider the nuts.
I had check/raised the UTG player before so I went with it again and this time he calls me down out of frustration.

Wednesday, July 12, 2006

297 hands $222

Again only a short session to keep up with the Iron Man challenge. Since I am taking some time off to get my "A" game back, I have had some extra time on my hands. That time has been spent playing the Dungeons and Dragons online game. Some of my friends have started playing and they offer a free 7 day trial, so I thought why not.
On another note Me, Tórður and Jákup went to Stevens for a game of MahJong. It's a great game, it's simple to play but it has quite alot of nuances to it. Afterwards me and Tórður went to play Dungeons and Dragons, but I first had to take my daily dose of poker and Tórður watcehd. Here is one hand we both liked:

98s in the BB: When you flop a near cinch hand your always happy, but you still have to worry about getting all the money in the middle. Sometimes it is an art to reach the all-in stage without leaving your opponent any way out.
In this example I decided to check/raise the flop and weak bet the turn inducing a raise. If I instead had just lead out with strong bets from the go, there would have been a risk of not ending all-in.
In this hand I think the all-in couldn't have been avoided though, my opponent wasn't too passive.

Tuesday, July 11, 2006

275 hands - $62

I can already feel that the break from poker is doing me good.
The few hands I play are to meet the Iron Man Challenge on Full Tilt Poker, I got a promotion for a free chip set from Full Tilt if I made the Iron Man two months in a row so I don't want to miss that.
Even though the few hands didn't give any profit, I feel my mind is returning to its regular self. It is as if playing each day builds up a burden that I can only get rid off with some time off.

My friends and I were at Tórðurs 30th birthday today and we decided to take one quick Sit and Go to end a good day. 7 of us anted up 100 DKR ($17) and I took first place and 500 DKR ($85) with Leivur coming in second winning 200 DKR ($34).

Monday, July 10, 2006

251 hands $275

I almost didn’t play today and I am probably not gonna play much during the next week. It seems to me that I am not taking enough time off to give my mind rest from poker.
Over the few hands that I did play I managed to loose about $100, with the profit you see comming from getting some of my rakeback.

I’ll still log on each day and start up a few tables, but as long as the problems I am having with concentration and focus persist, I am not gonna play much.

Sunday, July 09, 2006

971 hands - $691

I was very tilty today. It doesn't feel good tilting away alot of money, especially when you don't know what is causing it.
Perhaps I try to hard to get a profit out of the weekend, playing tired and unfocused.
The Iron Man Freeroll was today though and I got $120 out of that one, lessening my loss a little.

I also made about $100 playing $0.5/1 PL Omaha, trying to broaden my scope on poker. On occasions I play 7 card stud or Omaha, I'm not good at the High/Low variants, but I try to learn the regular versions when I am not playing well at Hold'em.

That just makes my losses worse, when I think about it. Hold'em cash games resulting in a $900 loss.

ATs in the BB: I don't know if you can ever justify calling here. The players didn't show much strength, but I was just positive one of them had to have a better hand. This fold cost me more than $1000 though, because the pre-flop raiser tried to take a bluff stab at it. I am pretty sure I would have called if the third player hadn't.

Saturday, July 08, 2006

1515 hands $23

I played 3 or 4 session today and all was looking very well. I didn't know exactly how much I was up, but I was closing in on $1000. Then I decided to just take a quick session more at Party Poker.
An ocean of suckouts later I logged off and opened pokertracker to see how badly my profit was hurt, I was actually glad when I found out I was still in the positive for the day.

I am still counting on this weekend being a good one. Tomorrow I am playing in the Iron Man $30.000 freeroll, I am entered in it for playing alot on Full Tilt Poker. Hopefully I'm not too rusted in playing tournaments.

JJ in the BB: This is me tilting the last of my profit for the day, after numerous bad beats. I could have logged out a couple of hands earlier or just folded to the raise and had a nice profit for the day. It doesn't take more than one of these though for me to realize I am playing badly.

Friday, July 07, 2006

705 hands - $510

We played two live Sit 'n Go's today and this time I remembered to take some pictures. Alas I found out that they didn't turn out as well as I hoped, but I'll post them anyway.

The empty chair with the small chipstack infront of it is mine. Tórður is the guy who can't sit still and messed up this picture ;)
The guy on my right is Høgni. He didn't want to play, so he watched my cards instead.
The guy on my left is Jákup, as you can see he has an even smaller stack than mine, luck was not on his side today.

I however did quite alot better, I won both tourneys. We played for 100 DKR, with first place paying 500 DKR, so I ended the day with a 800 DKR profit (about $130). Those aren't counted in the total listed in the topic, so the day didn't end all that bad.

The guy in the middle of this next picture is Tróndur, he was our host today. He usually does quite well, but today he got dealt Queens the same hand I got dealt Kings and I had him barely covered.
Leivur, sitting to the right of Tróndur, however ended both games as runner up, as you can see by the big smile on his face.

I really need to get a better cellphone, the pictures this one takes are quite useless.

The third picture shows the loosers lounge. Me and Leivur are heads-up at this point, playing off camera to the left. While the others eagerly await the outcome of the game as you can see :)

Online poker didn't go so well. The sessions didn't feature anything spectacular. I got a King high flush against an Ace high flush that cost me a buy-in and I got all in pre-flop with AK against a short-stacks AJ and he caught a Jack.
I didn't play very well either, just wanted to get some hands over with so I could say to myself that I had done some work today. That's never a good idea, don't play unless you plan on playing your best.

Thursday, July 06, 2006

602 hands $423

I took it easy today, playing mostly $2/4 blinds NL and very unusually for me I played in a tournament. The tournament went nowhere, but I did well in the cash games.
I was very happy with last months results almost reaching 30.000 hands played, which is my goal. This month however I feel a bit drained and I think taking it easy for starters is a good idea.

One of my friends, Tórður, is back on the Faroe Islands to celebrate his 30th birthday. He lives in Denmark and seldom finds the time to visit. He is also an avid poker player, if not active as of late, so I am sure that my friends are gonna find some time to play a couple of Sit and Go’s while he is here.

AJo in the BB (continued) :I’ll go through all streets of this hand, explaining what I think are the pitfalls one should avoid aswell as what opportunities there are to take.
I don’t like a standard pot raise here pre-flop. The two limpers are in early position and both have short stacks, so you’ll likely face two callers with a raise out of position that most likely will fold if an ace flops if they don’t hit and won’t fold if you miss. There is always the chance that one of the limpers came in with a good hand, so a push isn’t a profitable play either.
On the flop there is a clear argument for betting, but so far my hand is disguised and if an opponent has a weaker Ace or a flush draw he will hopefully bet for me revealing his hand in the process.
No one took the bait on the flop and now there are two flush draws possible. I don’t like overbetting, as it kind of gives away that I slowplayed the flop. The river is the key. One of the flush draws got there and the ten could also give my opponent two pair. But failing to bet here, extracting the last and biggest bet of the hand from a weaker Ace, a busted draw containing a Ten or a pair of Queens results in missing alot of value in the long run. I will offcourse fold to any check/raise, my opponent is very unlikely to bluff this river because I could easily have a big hand.

Wednesday, July 05, 2006

938 hands $604

My day started with a 300 hand session on Full Tilt and I played really bad. I picked bad spots to bluff and paid off every draw that hit for my opponents. I don’t know what it was that caused my bad play, perhaps my misfortune yesterday or lack of sleep last night I only got like 4-5 hours. But whatever it was, it took me 300 hands and about $500 before I got up and left the tables.
I went for a walk and cleared my head and when I came back I was feeling and playing much better, turning the loss into a win.

I might tune down my playing a bit. I feel I need to plug some leaks in my game so I will probably be playing fewer hands for a while. Today I definitely found some leakes when I concentrated at 4 or fewer tables instead of playing 6 – 8 at a time.

AJo in the BB: This is a hand I think many could either miss value with or get into trouble with. I am gonna comment more on the hand tomorrow, so I won’t ruin the thought process for those looking at it.

Tuesday, July 04, 2006

910 hands - $1032

I didn’t get to many hands in today. I played with my friends in two SnGs before I logged on, so I didn’t really want to overdo it.
In the live games, I did ok. I won the 1st tourney, sucking out on one hand against my friend Trondur, but otherwise I played ok. A new player called Hans made nr. 2 so I am sure he’ll join us again. Second game I made a bad call on the bubble with A6o against my friend Jan’s pair of 99’s and was out. Trondur went on to win that one with Jan comming in second. We all chipped in 100 DKR (which is about $17) with 500 DKR going to nr. 1 and 300 DKR to the runner-up so I left with 300 DKR ($51) profit.
Online didn’t go to well though. I took some very bad beats against full stacked players. I played fairly well and didn’t tilt, so looking back I am not dissapointed with the day.

J8o in the BB: I admit I am kind of lost in this hand pre-flop, I am sure folding is an option on the flop, but I decided to peel one off. When the flush card hit I took the opportunity and went for the bluff. His large raise on the flop looked like a bet fearing a flushdraw and my weak play on the flop could very well be interpreted as a draw so I went with it. I usually don’t fire the second barrel very often, but I felt it would work this time.

KK on the Button: One of numerous bad beats I had this session, this one cost me the most though. Notice it is against the same player I bluffed in the previous hand. I felt he played like a typical tourney player and that he was getting suspicious of me, so I am pretty sure he would have called my push with AQ and JJ aswell.

Monday, July 03, 2006

1229 hands $1795

I played against captZEEbo for the first time today. There was a really juicy $5/10 blinds NL game going, so I took a shot at it, before I knew it ZEEbo sat down. Incase you don’t know him, there is a link to his poker blog on the right.
The good times keep comming, this weekend has really set me up for a good month. I unfortunatly can’t say it is because I am playing particularly well, I just get good cards against bad players. Don’t get me wrong I am not playing badly, I just realize when luck is the main contributor to a good run.

AQs in the BB: This is a no brainer call. His most likely holding is a mediocre overpair and I am a favorite against them. Even if I knew he had QQ pot odds would have justified a call with me being only a slight underdog.
In this hand I am playing $5/10, so slightly above my normal game. But I don’t hesitate putting the money in, although I know it most likely will be a coin toss situation. If you fear backing the small edges up with your stack when they come along you should be playing in a smaller game.

QQ in the SB: The fellow with the Aces misses out on some value here. I guess he got scared of the 8 on the turn or the heart on the river. I think I would have put me on a worse overpair or a draw if I were him and gotten more out of the hand. Surely he atleast should have bet more on the flop.

Sunday, July 02, 2006

1329 hands $1247

I played on Full Tilt today, mostly at $2/4 blinds NL, but also a few hands on $3/6 and $1/2 when the games were good.
It feels really good getting such a good start on the month. A new month is like a new beginning and I was afraid of getting of to a bad start. The beginning kinda sets the mood for the work ahead and a good frame of mind to start with is invaluable.
All in all I guess I owe my profit to the juiciness of the games on a Saturday, the freaks really do come out on the weekends.

QQ in the BB: This was my biggest win for the day. I am not really happy with how I played it, but I don’t know where I should have acted differently.

AK in MP: My biggest loss of the day. I guess I should have folded on the flop and I usually do in this situation. The guy didn’t have a full stack and I think he was getting a little emotional from some previous action. So I put Ax and a flush draw amongst his possible hands and pushed, I can’t say I was surprised when he showed Aces up.

End of the month

The month has come to an end. I have played a total of 27.500 hands in June. Most of the hands have been at $2/4 blinds NL, with some sessions at $1/2 and some at $3/6. Pokertracker puts my winnings just shy of $7.500, but with rakeback and bonuses the month left me over $8.500 ahead. I’ve cashed out $4.000 and used the rest to propel my bankroll up to $12.000, slowly getting ready to make my main game the $3/6 blinds NL. I won’t make the complete shift until my bankroll is at $15.000, securing me 25 buy-ins, but $12.000 is ample enough to test the waters.

Looking back, $8.500 is alot of money to earn in one month. I don’t pay taxes of poker winnings here in Faroe Islands and even if they pass some law forcing me to pay taxes, I can move to Denmark where poker again is tax free. (Faroe Islands is part of the Danish Kingdom, kind of like Scotland is to Great Britain, so moving there is no great obstacle)Poker is nevertheless a bumpy profession, with the month of May leaving me down $2.000. So even though I start making alot of money playing this game, I don’t take it for granted and try to stay as sharp and focused on improving as I can.

738 hands $192

I played solely $400 buy-in NL today, about 300 hands at Full Tilt that left me a bit down and 400 hands at Party Poker that balanced it out again.
I caught some friends on Skype and we took a game of Dota or two. It takes time away from poker, I like to get 1000 hands in a day, especially on the weekends. But Dota is fun and I’ve played alot of poker this month.

My biggest winner for the day was this hand. I recently started playing 22’s and 33’s again in position, I was folding them after a couple of bad set vs. set beats. But in position there is no questioning their profitability.

The biggest losing hand today didn’t end in a showdown. I enquired afterwards about his hand, and he told me he flopped a full house with 77’s. It seems plausible with his play, in the heat of the moment though I put him on A7, so I folded.
